FAQs

How does a custom pet portrait work?

Each portrait is hand-painted in acrylic on stretched canvas, working closely from the photos you send me. I currently specialise in dog and cat portraits, capturing the personality and presence that make them family — though I also welcome enquiries for other animals and meaningful personal subjects.

What photo do I need to send?

Your photo is the heart of the painting — it’s what allows me to truly capture your pet as you know and love them. As I don’t know your pet personally, image quality makes all the difference, especially the eyes and expression. You’re very welcome to send multiple photos — I’ll help choose the one that will translate best into a painting.

Can I choose the background colour?

Yes. Each portrait is finished with a clean, solid background colour chosen to complement your pet and your space. If you already have a colour in mind I’m happy to match it, or I can suggest something that will work perfectly with your painting.

How much does a custom pet portrait cost?

My Custom Pet Portraits currently start at £450. To find out more information click here.

How long does a commission take?

It all depends on what size, details, type of commission you would like and my current scheduled wait list! Email me for more details contact@aymarieart.co.uk

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Prints ship internationally through The Creative Hub, and original paintings can also be shipped internationally, though cost and timeframe vary depending on size and destination. Full details are on the Shipping & Returns page.

What’s your returns policy?

Original paintings and commissions are final sale — for commissions, I’ll always confirm you’re happy with the piece before it’s finalised. Prints and accessories can be replaced or refunded if they arrive damaged, faulty, or misprinted. Full details are on the Shipping & Returns page.
