Commissions & Custom Artwork

Thinking about commissioning a custom piece but not sure where to start? You’re in the right place.

Each painting is thoughtfully created to capture what makes your pet or chosen subject so special — turning a moment, memory, or connection into something you can hold onto forever.

The Process

All portraits are hand-painted using acrylic on stretched canvas, ready to hand and enjoy as soon as they arrive.

I work closely from the photos you provide, carefully translating the details, personality and essence of your subject into a timeless piece of art.

What Can I Paint?

I currently specialise in dog and cat pet portraits, capturing the unique personality and presence that make them family.

I also welcome enquires for:

  • Other animals (horses, rabbits, birds, etc.)

  • Meaningful moments or personal subjects.

If it matters to you, I’d love to bring it to life.

Choosing the Right Photo

Your photo is the heart of your painting — it’s what allows me to truly capture your pet as you know and love them.

As I don’t know your pet personally, the quality of your image makes all the difference in creating something that feels accurate and full of life.

For the best results, please consider:

  • Clarity - Sharp, high-quality images are essential (blurry photos limit detail)

  • Natural lighting - Outdoor or well-lit images work best (no heavy filters or flash).

  • Close-up composition - Head and chest shots allow me to focus on the details that bring your pet to life, especially the eyes and expression.

You’re very welcome to send multiple photos - I can help choose the one that will translate best into a painting.

Backgrounds

Each portrait is finished with a clean, solid background colour, chosen to complement your per and your space beautifully.

If you already have a colour in mind, I’m happy to match it — or I can suggest something that will work perfectly with your painting.

A Note

Every piece I create is deeply personal, and it means so much to be trusted with something that holds real meaning. If you’re unsure about anything, feel free to reach out — I’m always happy to guide you through the process.

Painting of two dogs with a pink background, one appears to be a light-colored Cocker Spaniel and the other is a brown dachshund, on a canvas leaning against a dark surface. A small photo in the lower-left corner shows the same two dogs in real life.

Have Questions?

Whether you have a question, want a larger pet portrait or one with three or more animals, or you’re interested in a custom design commission beyond pet portraits — this is the place to ask. Tell me what you have in mind below and I’ll get back to you personally with ideas and a quote.
